Gary T. Amato

Gary specializes in providing financial reporting, tax compliance, tax planning and financial management consulting services to investment partnerships. Areas of specialty include both audit and back office services, as well as taxation, for both domestic and offshore hedge funds. His clients also include registered investment advisors and their related entities. He provides advice on various business and administrative issues, including starting and operating their businesses, and he assists his clients in the formation of new funds, including reviewing various partnership documents.

Prior to starting his own firm, Mr. Amato worked as an audit manager for two large regional CPA firms in the financial services group. His responsibilities included planning, budgeting and perform compilations, reviews and certified audits of entities in the hedge fund/financial services industry. He has prepared financial statements and all related footnote disclosures as well as preparing both economic and tax allocations. His work also included the accounting and tax work for both the General Partner and Investment manager entities. Prior to his work in public accounting, Mr. Amato served as an internal auditor for a major mutual fund company located in New York City.

Gary has over 30 years of experience in servicing both the individual and business community. He is a licensed CPA in New York and Florida. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (“NYSSCPA”), Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“FICPA”) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (“CalCPA”). He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”). The firm is a member of the CPA Connect Network. This is a network of CPA firms across the United States as well as internationally.

Gary earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island. He also has earned a Masters in Taxation from Long Island University.
